Week 7: Johnson contributed mightily in the passing game as Penn State rolled UMass, 63-0. The TE was targeted five times and had four receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns. His long of the day was a 30-yard scoring strike from Drew Allar, when the tied got wide open on a deep crosser. Johnson had an average day blocking for the run. — JH.

Week 6: DNP — Penn State had its bye.

Week 5: In 28 passing plays against Northwestern, Johnson was targeted three times by QB Drew Allar, catching two passes for 13 yards. Penn State remained unbeaten with a 41-13 win. The TE struggled against the Wildcats in his run-blocking assignments. — JH

Week 4: In Penn State's 31-0 win over Iowa, the Nittany Lions tight end was targeted six times, catching all six for 42 yards. Johnson demonstrated his ability to run after the catch, with 36 yards of his yards came of the completion. He did struggle when called upon to pass protect. — JH

Week 3: Johnson played 50 snaps in Penn State's 30-13 win over Illinois. As a pass receiver, he was targeted five times and caught two passes for 32 yards, a healthy 16 yards per receptions. In run-blocking Johnson was so-so, though the Nittany Lions did rush for 169 yards. — JH  

Week 2: On a day when Penn State ran the ball more than twice as often as they passed it, Johnson was not featured much in the passing game, catching two passes for 14 yards. His run-blocking did help Penn State backs rush for nearly 240 yards as the Nittany Lions demolished Delaware, 63-7. — JH
