2024 – Junior
• Transferred to Kentucky as a graduate transfer after spending two seasons at North Texas (2022-23) and two seasons at Missouri (2020-21)
• Has played in 29 career games with 13 starts
• Will have two years of eligibility remaining
• Totaled 73 receptions for 1,384 yards and 13 touchdowns in 26 games at North Texas
• Saw action in just three games at Mizzou
• Has four career 100-yard games, all coming in 2023

 

2023 – Sophomore (North Texas)
• Started in all 12 games played
• Named to the American Athletic Conference Second Team after catching a team-high 57 passes for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns (17.6 yards per catch)
• His 1,004 receiving yards ranked fifth in the American Athletic Conference and 31st nationally
• His 11 scores ranked second in the American Athletic Conference and tied for ninth nationally
• Climbed to ninth on UNT’s single-season receiving yards list
• Became the first player in program history to average better than 17.0 yards per catch in a single season in which he also had 1,000 receiving yards
• Became the seventh player in program history to have 1,000 receiving yards in a single season
• Had a career-high nine catches for 118 receiving yards in UNT’s final regular-season game vs. UAB

• Finished the season ranked No. 2 nationally in yards per catch behind teammate Jyaire Shorter
• Caught two touchdowns and had four kickoff returns for 80 yards
• Helped lead the Mean Green to the C-USA Championship Game

• Did not see action due to injury

• Saw action in just three games vs. South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Arkansas

• Starred at Kirkwood (Mo.) High School for coach Farrell Shelton
• Three-star wideout prospect by all the major recruiting services
• Rivals rated him as the state’s No. 12 overall prospect at any position
• 247Sports rated him as the state’s No. 10 prospect at any position
• Posted 37 catches for 677 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior, averaging 18.3 yards per catch, and was hurt for much of the year, limiting his production
• Caught 45 passes for 762 yards and nine scores as a junior
• Finished his high school career with 113 catches for 2,029 yards and 22 touchdowns
• Also participated on the track and basketball teams

• Born in St. Louis, Missouri
• Son of Rose Swopes and Jairus Maclin
• Has 14 siblings
• Cousin, Jeremy Maclin, was an All-American wide receiver at Missouri who spent eight seasons in the NFL
• Graduated in the fall of ’23 from North Texas with a degree in integrative studies … Currently working on an undergraduate certificate in leadership studies at UK and is on track to receive that certificate in December of ’24
• Nickname is “J-Mac”
• He chose Kentucky because of the family atmosphere
• One thing most people don’t know about him is that he can dance
• After his football career he hopes to get into coaching
• Three words to describe him are funny, loving and respectful
