Brewer attended Liberty-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Texas and was named 12-3A All-District at the defensive end position in 2003. He also served as team captain and was named team MVP that year. Brewer was also a member of the honor roll in high school.
Michael was born and raised in Texarkana, Texas. He is the son of Henry and Algie Brewer and is planning to major in Mecahnical Engineering.
