2022 (redshirt fr): Freshman All-America Team (FWAA, CFN) … Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year…Second Team All-Big 12 (Coaches) … Had a breakout season in his first year as a regular part of the lineup ... Honors included being named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year by the league’s coaches and being included on the FWAA Freshman All-America Team, receiving third team honors on the College Football News Freshman All-America team and being lists on the second-team All-Big 12 team by the league’s coaches ... Also a first team Academic All-Big 12 honoree ... Played in all 13 games and started five times, including four of the final six contests ... Finished the year ranking fourth among all FBS freshmen with three interceptions and fifth among all FBS freshmen with an average of 5.5 tackles per game ...
