A three-year starter, Jones was one of the state's most prolific ground-gainers ever and finished his career 807 carries, 7,889 yards and 101 touchdowns

Had 41 career 100-yard rushing games, which ranked as the second-best all-time mark in Texas schoolboy history at end of his prep career

Rushed for 1,500 yards in playoff games throughout career

Second-team all-state selection as a junior after rushing for 2,467 yards and 29 touchdowns in leading the Dragons to a 13-2 record and a runner-up finish in the Class 2A Division I playoffs
