Allen Langford

SS, CB · Wisconsin
The four-year starter earned second-team All-Big Ten recognition as a senior leader in the secondary, even though he missed the last two games of 2007 with a torn ACL. Inconsistent against top competition until 2008, Langford finished his career with eight interceptions and 33 pass breakups. His hard work on the field and in the film room has cemented his status as a draftable prospect.

positives

Adequate height and a good, wiry cornerback build. ... Backs down from nobody. ... Hips are good enough to flip open and run with receivers. ... Fights taller receivers for jump ball with good vertical, timing and ball skills. ... Most times he plays off the line of scrimmage, but can be physical enough to support the run or break up quick screens when put in position. ... Quickly recovered from torn ACL suffered at the end of 2007.

negatives

Only adequate recovery speed. ... Gets turned inside out too easily. ... Low in his pedal but is a bit choppy, which can lead to rough transitions. ... Gives too much cushion, especially when facing taller receivers. ... Not much of a factor on blitzes. ... Inconsistent hands for the interception. ... Slow to pick up receivers coming into his zone.
