after the catch
Smooth moving outside after catching the curl route. Used on reverses to take advantage of his speed and shifty running. Did not have great blocking for kickoff returns, but still needs to hit holes harder to succeed in that duty.
route running
Quick feet and fluid hips to sell deep route and stop short for comeback, hitch or out, but could eliminate an extra step when stopping. Also hesitates to sell short route, then accelerates past frozen corners. Should excel in crossing routes because of his flexibility and elusiveness.
intangibles
Reliable player on the field who has worked in the weight room to build bulk. Leg pass must medical check, although it did not appear to affect him in 2009.
hands
First option for the Aggies when needing a first down because of his solid hands. Catches the ball away from his body and secures it quickly. Extends for passes thrown to either side, dives when needed and high-points jump balls, even when anticipating contact from zone corner or safety.
release
Adequate quickness from his stance, but could improve his drive. Eats up cushions and accelerates past most corners. Has some shake to get inside or outside lane against man coverage. Lines up in the slot and outside.
blocking
Wiry with average strength, but gives effort and will throw his body around when blocking downfield. Stays aware of and gets a hand on oncoming special teamers when not returning in tandem formation, but is not going to blow anyone up.
2007: Played in only three games due to a leg injury.
