Andre Frazier

OLB, DE · Cincinnati
Positives...Has above average explosion off the snap and good balance...Has good muscle definition and adequate upper body strength...Quick in pursuit, showing an explosive burst off the edge... Uses his hands well to defeat blocks and is effective at keeping blockers off his feet...Has a sharp change of direction and knifes into the back-field quickly to push the pocket...Extends his arms and grabs with his hands to get any piece of the ball carrier...Not afraid to take on double coverage, dipping his shoulders and leaning in to slide off the blockers...Has the agility and foot speed to drop off in pass coverage...Gives good effort in pursuit and shows good backside production...His change of direction agility allows him to work his way around blocks vs. slower offensive tackles to get penetration...Flashes the hand strength needed to swing off blocks and get pressure. Negatives...Used as a down lineman during his time at Cincinnati, so he was not able to refine his pass defense techniques...Does not engage or shed well at the line of scrimmage (probably due to the weight difference between him and the offensive tackle)... His small frame could force him to shift to outside linebacker at the pro level, but he might not be fast enough to make the conversion...Has some stiffness in his hips and is strictly a one-gap player who lacks bulk to neutralize blocks and hold ground at the point of attack...Often gets stalled by the offensive linemen when working in-line at the line of scrimmage...Needs to have a free lane to gain penetration, as he lacks strength to defeat blocks.
