Four-time all-district selection at three different positions for Class 2A Lexington High School
earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive back and honorable mention honors as a quarterback as a senior
Texas Prep Xtra Central Texas MVP (all classifications) and Class 2A Player of the Year
in 2004, Peterson rushed for 1,748 yards and 31 touchdowns on 190 carries, and passed for 1,540 yards and 12 scores on 102-of-199 attempts on offense
on defense, Peterson made 100 tackles and forced six fumbles, while grabbing seven interceptions
returned three picks for touchdowns and three punts for touchdowns
helped Lexington to a 13-2 record and the Class 2A semifinals
as a junior, Peterson rushed for 1,247 yards and 26 touchdowns and passed for 1,036 yards, while making 45 tackles and three interceptions
an excellent student, Peterson earned academic all-state honors
helped Lexington to the 2005 state track meet team championship by running a leg on the state runner-up 4x100 relay.
