Trevor Williams

CB, FS · Penn State
Williams was named honorable mention All-Big Ten each of his final two seasons at Penn State, including a senior season in which he started every game for the Nittany Lions, producing 31 tackles, 3.0 TFLs with one interception, three pass breakups and three passes defended during the regular season. Williams arrived at Penn State as a wide receiver, and appeared in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2012. He made the switch to defense during spring practice the following year, and made his first career start at wide receiver (second start overall) against Ohio State.

strengths

Light-footed, composed athlete...smooth redirection skills when staying low and balanced...reaches top speed quickly with initial burst and quick acceleration...tough with drive mechanics to attack the run and not afraid to throw his body around downhill...works hard to maintain position while strategically choosing when to take risks jumping routes.

weaknesses

Former receiver and moved to cornerback as a sophomore in 2013...wild limbs and needs to improve his patience to better disrupt the rhythm of wideouts...inconsistent eyes and late to process...aggressive tackler, but functional strength and tackling technique aren't sound...can be posted up vs. physical receivers, causing him to lose 50-50 balls.
