Sean Lee

OLB, ILB · Penn State
It looked like Lee was destined to be the next in a long line of stars at Linebacker U. An outstanding junior season in which he was named second-team All-Big Ten with 138 tackles -- second in the conference to only teammate Dan Connor -- he tore the ACL in his right knee in spring 2008, forcing him to redshirt his fourth season in Happy Valley instead of taking over for Connor at middle linebacker. After a year spent acting as a coach from the sideline and in practice, the team captain earned second-team all-conference honors in 2009 with 86 tackles, 11 for loss, and seven pass breakups. Considered one of the best football and basketball players in the Pittsburgh area, he made notable contributions as a freshman and delivered a strong sophomore season as a starter (90 tackles, eight for loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception). Lee has to convince scouts he has NFL-caliber speed and strength, but his intelligence and toughness are virtually unquestioned. His ability to play inside and outside in any scheme should see him selected before the end of the third round.
