A three-year all-league pick, Walters excelled at receiver, safety and defensive back at Juanita HS. A team captain as a senior, he set school records for all-purpose yards and total offense in a season and completions and interceptions in a game. Walters was the teams most valuable player on offense as a junior and was the schools player of the year as a senior. A National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete, he was nominated to play in the all-state football game. Walters was named most valuable receiver at the Washington State football camp in the summer of 2005 and later earned first-team all-area at safety by the Eastside Journal. As a senior, Walters was 74-for-153 passing for 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns, and rushed for 596 yards and eight touchdowns. He was also a three-time all-league pick in baseball and a two-year captain and all-league pick as a senior in basketball.
Bryan Robert Walters is the son of Rob and Carol Walters and has an older sister.
