Lloyd Carrington
lacks great straight-line speed and pre-draft workouts will be key to final grading.
IN OUR VIEW
like his former teammate damarious randall, carrington possesses the combination of instincts and grit that could help his stock soar as a senior. carrington may lack the straight-line speed scouts would prefer but his awareness and physicality fit in a zone-based scheme at corner. clubs could see carrington as a possible safety convert, as well.

strengths
Carrington is a highly aggressive defender who isn't afraid to latch on and re-route receivers. His willingness to extend his arms could draw flags in the NFL, but Carrington does it with subtlety, using his body to force wideouts near the sideline, essentially using the boundary as an aid in defense. He is very effective in this manner in part because he doesn't panic when the ball is in the air, showing excellent timing in his leaps and good hand-eye coordination to slap passes away just as the receiver attempts to make the catch.
given the relatively short time he has played, carrington shows above average route recognition and is rarely out of position. he's a reliable face-up tackler and is very good in run support, frequently fighting through blocks from receivers to stop backs near the line of scrimmage or ruin receiver screens thrown in his direction.
