Ryan Lindley

QB · No College
Lindley is a strong-armed quarterback whose size, production and experience leading a variety of offenses is bound to intrigue NFL scouts. He emerged as a starter for the Aztecs as a redshirt freshman, earning the team's MVP award after throwing for 2,653 yards and 16 touchdowns. He went on to start 49 games for the Aztecs, leaving the program as the most productive quarterback in school history with records for most passing yards (12,690) and touchdowns (90), among other marks. In terms of projecting Lindley to the NFL, from the waist up he's among the more talented quarterbacks in the 2012 draft. Lindley is intelligent, experienced, tough and has a cannon for a right arm. He is only an average athlete, overall, however, and doesn't set his feet consistently enough before delivering the pass, resulting in inaccurate throws. Lindley never completed more than 57.7 percent of his passes in any season of his career and completed a career-worst 53 percent as a senior. Lindley also struggled when matched up against tougher competition and leaves SDSU with a 23-26 career won-loss record. With so much experience and as strong of an arm as any of the second-tier quarterback prospects, Lindley could earn top 75 consideration. However, if he is to develop into a starting quarterback at the professional level, he'll need to demonstrate improved accuracy.
