Husker Camp Countdown: No. 12 Nouredin Nouili
Nebraska coach Matt Rhule answers questions at Big Ten media days in Indianapolis.
We are counting down the top 50 Nebraska football players you need to know heading into the season.
No. 12 Nouredin Nouili
6-4, 315 • Senior • Offensive lineman
Despite joining the Huskers as a walk-on, Nouili quickly played his way into a starting guard spot and eventually a scholarship during his last season of action in 2021. Nouili's strength and ability to open up interior gaps for the run game are his standout attributes, and Nebraska definitely missed Nouili's presence in 2022. The Huskers ranked No. 100 nationally with 123.3 rushing yards per game, struggling against more athletic Big Ten defensive lines as the season wore on.
Now back from his season-long suspension, Nouili will be an immediate candidate to reclaim his starting spot at guard. There will be a competition in fall camp, though, with Turner Corcoran, Ethan Piper and Henry Lutovsky all making big gains during the season that Nouili missed. Physically, the sixth-year senior didn't appear rusty during his first game action in the Red-White Spring Game, though fall camp will be the true litmus test where Husker coaches will be able to test Nouili. His return gives Nebraska more depth and talent along the offensive line — and perhaps a big boost in the run game.
