Husker Camp Countdown: No. 23 Brian Buschini

We are counting down the top 50 Nebraska football players you need to know heading into the season.
No. 23 Brian Buschini
6-1, 225 • Junior • Punter
Buschini returns for his second season at Nebraska with little competition for punting duties. Jacob Hohl is also on the roster, but special teams coordinator Ed Foley made it clear in the spring it’s Buschini’s job to lose.
Buschini was a source of stability in his first season with the Huskers; his 44 yards per punt was the eight-best single-season mark in program history. It came after a equally productive season at Montana, where he averaged 45.8 yards per punt.
It was his first extended action after a redshirt year in 2019, and the next season impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Barring an injury or something unexpected, Buschini will be Nebraska’s punter in 2023.
