Which Ohio State football players will attend Big Ten Media Days 2023?
COLUMBUS, Ohio — In what has become an accidental annual tradition, Ohio State football will not send a quarterback among its Big Ten Media Days representatives. That did not come as a surprise when the Big Ten announced the attendees for the July 26-27 event in Indianapolis. The Buckeyes have not yet decided on a starter for 2023 between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown. Just like in 2018, 2019 and 2021, there is no returning starter to send. The three players OSU is sending, though, expect to rank among the best players in the country at their positions. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau and tight end Cade Stover will take their turns at the microphone, along with coach Ryan Day. Harrison was a unanimous All-American last season. Tuimoloau was a first-team All-Big Ten pick by the coaches. Stover was a third-team All-Big Ten selection by the media. J.T. Barrett went to media days in 2016 as OSU’s starting quarterback, but did not return in 2017. The 2020 event was canceled due to the pandemic. C.J. Stroud last season became the first OSU quarterback since Barrett to attend. The Buckeyes were one of eight teams to send a quarterback last season. Only four Big Ten teams will send a QB this season, though, and three are incoming transfers. Taulia Tagovailoa is Maryland’s returning starter, while Nebraska’s Jeff Sims, Purdue’s Hudson Card and Wisconsin’s Tanner Mordecai are new to the league. Michigan also is not sending returning starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy to the event. Instead, running back Blake Corum, defensive tackle Kris Jenkins and cornerback Mike Sanristil will represent the Wolverines. Day and Ohio State’s players are scheduled to speak on Wednesday, the first day of the event.
