No. 8 selection: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 216

40 time: 4.58

Hometown: Tampa, FL

College Highlights:  2022, Second-team All-Pac 12 Conference. Comeback Player of the Year by the College Sports Communicators/Fiesta Bowl. 2023, Won the Maxwell Award. Finalist for Heisman Trophy, Davey O’Brien Award, Johnny Unitas  Golden Arm Award, and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award. Led the FBS in passing yards in 2023, after being 2nd overall in 2022.

Notes: If it was not for Penix’s injury history we may very well be talking about him as the No. 1 overall quarterback in this year's draft. Unfortunately, his first four years were hampered by two ACL injuries and a shoulder injury. While watching him play he often looks like a left handed Daunte Culpepper with elite size and ability to throw the deep ball. Not only does he take care of the ball, he also has the mobility to move the chains with his legs and avoid drive killing sacks.
