Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Tuf Borland (32) is expected to be ready for the 2018 season.
Ohio State middle linebacker Tuf Borland will miss the rest of spring practice due to an Achilles injury, multiple outlets reported. Borland suffered a strained Achilles tendon during practice last week and will be sidelined indefinitely. However, the injury is not expected to threaten his 2018 season, according to Cleveland.com. "They tell us no," Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer said of the medical staff's assessment. "That just breaks your heart because he's one of the best kids I've ever been around in my life, and a very good player. But he'll be back." Borland, a redshirt sophomore, had been working with the starting unit during drills before he was hurt. He started nine of the final 11 games last season and finished fourth on the team with 58 tackles. Justin Hilliard and Baron Browning, who both arrived at Ohio State as five-star recruits, are next behind Borland at middle linebacker. Hilliard worked with the first unit Monday. Browning, a member of Ohio State's 2017 recruiting class, enrolled in classes in January.
