Starting quarterback Josh Jackson of Virginia Tech is dealing with an academic issue that could affect his eligibility this season, according to multiple media reports. Jackson, a redshirt sophomore, remains with the team while he awaits word from the university about any potential discipline. There has been no speculation about what the problem might be. Jackson's father, Fred, told The Richmond Times-Dispatch that a resolution is expected soon. "We'll know more in two days," Fred Jackson said. "It's too early to talk about this." Jackson started all 13 games for the Hokies last season, passing for 2,991 yards and 20 touchdowns. He is the only quarterback on the roster who has taken snaps in a game for the Hokies.
