Hurricanes hosting dozens of top prospects as Cristobal hopes to build off recent recruiting success

1/26/2024 The Miami Hurricanes signed one of the nation’s top 2024 recruiting classes, and Mario Cristobal is wasting no time recruiting the 2025 class. Miami is expected to host dozens of the nation’s top juniors for their Elite Prospect Day event this weekend, and players from around the nation will get a chance to see the campus and speak to UM’s coaches. “I just want to learn more about how they do things and get to know staff members that I don’t know,” Orlando Jones four-star wide receiver Vernell “Trey” Brown III told the South Florida Sun Sentinel, “and get to know the staff I know better.

” Last year, Miami held a junior day at the start of spring camp, and it drew positive reviews. This year’s Elite Prospect Day coincides with Battle Miami, a top 7-on-7 event that will bring many top players to South Florida. Brown, who said he has a good relationship with UM wide receivers coach Kevin Beard, said he likes the Hurricanes’ tradition and has a positive view of the staff.

“Obviously, they have good people in the building,” Brown said. “But they have a good tradition and a lot of great players played there. ” Like Brown, Vero Beach four-star linebacker T.

J. Alford said he wants to see more of the school and keep building his relationship with the coaches. Being relatively close to home is also appealing to the Treasure Coast standout.

“I love the culture in the city I’m from,” Alford told the Sun Sentinel. “All my family will be able to make the games. (I like the idea of) early playing time.

I want to go and be a freshman All-American. ” Four-star running back Alvin Henderson, who racked up an astounding 3,523 rushing yards and 61 touchdowns in a run-first offense at Alabama’s Elba High, said he is looking forward to getting back down to Miami after taking an unofficial visit to UM last year. “Honestly, I feel like Miami is a great all-around fit, and coach Cristobal is getting everything back to how it used to be,” Henderson told the Sun Sentinel.

“The thing I love about the coaches and the university itself is that they’ve always let me know how much of a priority I am to them and how they could use me instantly from Day 1. And I also just love everything about the campus. A special place to graduate and get a degree from.

So I think from my standpoint, I could get developed on and off the field. ” .
