2022: Started all 13 games at right guard ... helped pave the way for the Bruins to average over 200 yards rushing for the third straight season (237.2 - sixth in FBS) ... Bruins produced a 1,000-yard rusher for the second straight season ... team posted nine 300-yard rushing games, three of 300-plus, during the regular season ... first time since 1987-86-85 seasons that UCLA has achieved 200 yards rushing plateau in three consecutive seasons ... named Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week for his play against ASU when the Bruins racked up 402 yards rushing ...  ... offensive line was selected as a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award ... named honorable mention All-Pac-12 by the league coaches. 

2021: Starter in all 12 games along the offensive line ... started the first two games of the season at center ... started at tackle against Utah and at guard in the remaining games ... helped pave the way for the Bruins to average over 200 yards per game on the ground for the second straight season (215.1) and produce a 1,000-yard rusher in Zach Charbonnet (1,137) ... first time since 1987-86-85 seasons that UCLA has achieved consecutive 200-plus yard rushing seasons ... UCLA ranked 17th nationally in rushing offense ...Bruins led the Pac-12 in scoring (36.5).

2020: Played in all seven games with starts at right guard against Arizona, Arizona State, USC and Stanford ... UCLA produced a rushing average of 230.6 yards per game which ranked second in the Pac-12 ... it was just the fourth time since 1990 that a Bruin team had achieved the 200 yards per game milestone for a season ... the last time a Bruin team averaged more than the average per rush mark of 5.1 yards was in 1976 ... opponent sacks dropped by over one per contest from the previous season to 1.7 per game.

2019: Saw action in 12 games, with one start against Cincinnati ... helped to block for Joshua Kelley who became the eighth running back in UCLA history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons ... the Bruins put together a streak of five straight 200-yard rushing games for the first time since 1978. 

2018: Saw action in one game ... played at offensive guard in the final game of the season against Stanford.

High school: Three-star recruit according to 247 Sports and the No. 128 offensive tackle prospect in the nation … No. 10 recruit in the state of Wisconsin … two-star prospect according to Rivals.com … named to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State team for 2017 (honorable mention) … honorable mention all-state selection ... team captain ... chosen to the All-Greater Milwaukee Metro team in 2016 ... lettered two years in football (tackle) and three years in track and field (throwing events).

Parents: Jon and Andrea Gaines … has one older brother and one older sister … his biggest thrill was helping his high school running back set a school record … lists LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Peyton Manning and Colin Kaepernick as the famous athletes he most admires … hobbies include cooking and video games ... would like to one day become an NFL team owner ... named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for Winter 2019, Winter 2020, Spring 2020, Winter 2021, Spring 2021, Spring 2022 ... earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science and is enrolled in the Transformative Coaching and Leadership graduate program in the School of Education ... earned a spot on the 2021-22 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll.
