NATIONAL CAREER MARKS: Left K-State ranking third nationally among active players in career all-purpose yards per game (135.92), fourth in all-purpose plays per game (20.92), fifth in total all-purpose yards (5,029) and total touchdowns scored (43), sixth in all-purpose plays (774), eighth in rushing yards per game (97.4) and rushes per game (17.59), and 11th in rushing touchdowns (34)... One of just five players since 1996 to tally 3,600 rushing yards and 1,250 receiving yards in a career, but did so in just 37 games... The others on the list are Tulane’s Mewelde Moore (44 games), Oklahoma’s DeMarco Murray (50 games), Southern Miss’ Ito Smith (51 games) and Louisiana’s Elijah McGuire (51 games).
 
BIG 12 CAREER MARKS: Ended his career ranked first among active Big 12 players in all-purpose yards (5,029), second in career rushing yards per game (97.41) and scoring per game (6.97), eighth in total offense per game (97.41)... Had five career games with 70 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving, the most in Big 12 history... 2022 HONORS/NATIONAL MARKS: Named a Consensus All-American for a second-straight season, just the second player in school history to pick up the honor twice in a career... He was one of just two repeat Consensus All-Americans on the 2022 list (Alabama’s Will Anderson)... Earned First Team All-America honors as an all-purpose player from the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Sporting News and The Athletic... One of four finalists for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award in addition to being a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award... Earned All-Big 12 First Team honors as an all-purpose player from the Associated Press, while he was a second-team running back by both the league’s coaches and the AP... 2022 SCHOOL MARKS: Finished the season ranked second in school history in rushing yards by a junior (1,558), tied for second in 100-yard rushing games (9), ranked third overall in rushing yards and all-purpose yards (1,936), fourth in rushing attempts (293) and fastest to 1,000 rushing yards (177th attempt), and seventh in rushing yards per game (111.3)... His nine 100-yard games were tied for the most in the Big 12 during the 2022 season... Ranked fifth in school history for rushing yards (133) and rushing attempts (21) in bowl games, while he is tied for 10th in rushing touchdowns (1).
 
2022 GAME HIGHLIGHTS: Started all 14 games, including the Wildcats’ Big 12 Championship win over TCU when he was named the MVP after rushing for 130 yards, which included a 44-yard touchdown run... Also caught two passes for 30 yards in the championship game... Set a new career high with 170 rushing yards against Texas Tech... He teamed with quarterback Adrian Martinez (171 yards) against the Red Raiders for the second-highest double 100-yard game in school history (341 yards)... Set the school’s bowl record with a career-long 88 yard run in the Sugar Bowl against Alabama, the longest rush of his career, tied for the longest overall play in school bowl history and ranked as the sixth-longest overall rush in any game in school history... It was the longest play allowed by Alabama in the last 20 years... It was the longest rush in the Big 12 during the 2022 season and tied for the second longest run by a Big 12 player in a bowl game... Finished the year with three-straight games of 100 rushing yards, the third time in his career he had a 100-yard streak of at least three games... Tallied at least 20 carries in 10 games, including each of the final five contests... Set a new career long with an 80-yard catch against Kansas, which tied for the 12th-longest reception in school history.

Also tied the school’s bowl record for rushing touchdowns, while his 146 rushing yards ranked third and his 21 rushes tied for sixth... His 24 points in the Texas Bowl tied for fourth in any game in school history, and his four touchdowns tied for third... Posted a career-best 162 rushing yards to go along with 70 receiving yards at Kansas... Only had 11 rushing attempts against the Jayhawks as his 14.7-yard average ranked third in school history (minimum 10 attempts)... His 129 receiving yards against Oklahoma were the most by a K-State running back since 1970 and was just the sixth 100-yard receiving game by a running back in school history... It was the fifth most receiving yards ever by a Big 12 running back and the most by a freshman... Had a 77-yard reception at Oklahoma, teaming with fellow true freshman Keyon Mozee to be the first set of teammates in school history with catches of at least 77 yards in the same game... Scored on a 70-yard reception against Texas Tech, the first Wildcat with a catch of at least 70 yards in consecutive regular-season games since Tyler Lockett in 2013 (Oklahoma/TCU)... Tallied 125 rushing yards against Texas, tied for the fifth most in school history among freshmen... High school: Played at Cedar Ridge under head coach Sam Robinson... Regarded as the 17th-best all-purpose back in the Class of 2020 by 247Sports... The 2018 and 2019 District 13-6A Offensive MVP... Also earned honorable mention all-state honors from the Texas Sports Writers Association as a junior... Accumulated 5,472 career all-purpose yards with 50 touchdowns, rushing for 4,405 yards and 38 scores to go along with 914 yards and 11 touchdowns... Also returned four kicks for 153 yards and a touchdown... Set school records for single-season rushing yardage (1,940) and single-game rushing yards (406)... Christopher Vaughn II was born November 2, 2001, in Fayetteville, Arkansas... Son of Christopher and Marquette Vaughn... Has two sisters, Cienna and Camryn... Father, Chris, is an NFL scout for the Dallas Cowboys, while he spent 18 seasons as a college assistant coach at Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis and Texas, and he played collegiately at Murray State...
